A huge congratulations to our team at the 2017 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championships. This hard fought event was by far the toughest World Champs yet; being the first time it had been held in Europe meant a whole lot more countries were competing; 42 in all.  After an amazing 10 days of events (during which time the team experienced pretty much every possible weather conditions),  it came down to an exceptional team performance in the team relay, the final event on the schedule. Team NZ placed third, which clinched their third place overall in the rankings.  The team also  brought home two gold medals and five silvers in the individual disciplines, a fabulous result.

To bring home the bronze medal for NZ in an event of this calibre, featuring so many different disciplines, is an incredible achievement and we’re super proud of all our athletes; aptain Sam Shergold, Marcus Hansen, Ollie Houghton, Sean Hovell, Trevor Tunnington, Annabel Anderson, Penelope Strickland, Stella Smith, Lucy Te Moananui, Jasmine Smith, Jessica Miller, ably assisted by Rosie Houghton, Gav Houghton and Gary Smith.  Contratulations to you all!
