If you’re looking for SUP tuition, we strongly recommend using qualified instructors wherever possible. While SUP is essentially a very safe sport, if it is not taught correctly using appropriate equipment, your experience is very likely to be less than pleasurable. There can be a world of difference between the teaching and safety practises of a professionally run paddleboarding school, and the ‘casual operator’ on a beach who has simply got themselves a couple of boards and has no formal training or qualifacations whatsoever!
The following schools have properly accredited NZ SUP instructors, who have been trained to deliver properly structured paddleboarding lessons on appropriate equipment, utilising proper safety practises.
