Join hundreds of local NZ and International paddlers on New Zealand’s Hibiscus Coast for a fun weekend of paddling workshops, beach races in and out of the surf, inshore flatwater racing and downwind distance paddling at the NZSUP National Festival of Paddleboarding, proudly brought to you by Sol Republic, Magrette, Olukai, Maui Jim, Starboard, Moana NZ SUP, Supshed, NZ Boardstore, Thule and Oqua.

Hoe Toa is the Maori translation of “Champions Paddle”, and is a celebration of New Zealand paddling for tane (men), wahine (women) and tamariki (children) of all ages and abilities. No matter whether you’re just getting the hang of it, or you’re a seasoned pro, this is your chance to get more involved in the emerging sport of stand up paddling, meet and paddle with NZ’s very own World Champions, smash your personal SUP goals and see how you measure up in the national rankings. It’s also the major qualifying event for paddlers wishing to represent NZ at the 2018 ISA World Championships in Brazil.

Featuring eight different paddleboard races over two days (from 1km to 20km in length), Flo Yoga workshops, Master Classes with Elite Athletes, Free Board Demos, a Sponsor Expo, food trucks, beer garden and live music overlooking the beautiful golden sand Orewa beach, Hoe Toa is all about family, community, friendship and good sportsmanship.

Never raced before?  What have you got to lose? Get on board with your whole family in our Hoe Ngahau Fun flatwater 1km event on Saturday afternoon (Surfboards and All Round boards only), or join a relay team for a gentle intro into the sport.  Then sign up for the 2.5km or 5km Hoe Marino flat water events on Sunday…

All event participants get a Sharkskin race shirt with their entry pack, and are eligible for spot prizes.
